How I keep a bronzed & glowy look without self-tanners

Who doesn’t love a beautiful bronzed look? I know I definitely do. I’ve been staying home lately and this June gloom is killing me! Which is why I wanted to share my “how-to’s” on how I maintain a bronzed and glowy look without self tanners.  I’m talking getting that Cali glow even when Cali isn’t cooperating. First thing’s first— the difference between self tanners and shimmers. Self tanners are usually that— a pigmented lotion or spray that gives instant color to your skin. I don’t usually use these because with past lotions or mousses the color comes out uneven on my skin. Also, although I do like the finished look after a day or two, the initial smell is something I just cannot handle. Don’t get me wrong, I know there are self tanners that have mastered the iron odor, but for the most part the smell is always there. So what do I use? Shimmer oils and creams. Shimmer oils are a slightly pigmented tone but in golds or rosegolds. It isn’t that immediate bronzed look, but more of a glowy, if the sun catches my skin I’ll look tan kind of look.

I wanted to share three of my personal faves that I can say I’ve tried out and have worked wonders on my skin. Plus, whenever I use any of there the compliments come flooding in! I also wanted to share one product which I was influenced into buying. Let’s start with The Tom Ford Soleil.
The Tom Ford Lightweight Soleil Blanc Shimmering Body Oil has the effect of sunkissed skin in a very subtle, yet in your face way. This is more or a gel substance that you apply as you see fit (although it is around $100) so I would stick to two maybe three pumps per use. The glittery softness of your skin will instantly be noticeable and you’ll love the results. Plus, the scent has this floraly goddess amazing smell.
The Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Body Lava was a game changer for me. Inused this while getting ready at Coachella and a makeup artist used it on me. Guys, I’m not kidding when I say it took me four weeks to buy it because of low stock. It is such a gem when it comes to getting the shade of ahinmer you want because they have such a variety of colors. The consistency is a bit thick, but at the same time light when you apply it and stays on throughout the whole day— no need to reapply.
The Kopari Coconut Body Glow is a product that I’ve used for a few years. It was one of the first in the market and I’ve been restocking on it ever since. This is the perfect item to toss into your carry-on when you’re traveling to a tropical destination. It is the perfect addition to any sunscreen to get that initial glow for when you actually lay put on the sun and tan
Last but not least, the KKW Skin Perfecting Body Shimmer. So guys, I haven’t actually tried this one — but I am SOLD. I obviously follow the Kardashians on social media and Kim recently posted a picture on how she covers her legs to get an even tone. I think this product is a definite win in the shimmer body lotion category. If you see the videos and how it works, I swear you’d be as amazed as I was. I’m currently adding item to cart and I’ll share my experience with you guys.

xx Gina
