Oh the peppermint in the air, the drop in temperature, malls overflowing with people, and carols in the background — yes, the holidays have started and so have the celebrations! Winter is a time to spend time with your loved ones, connect with coworkers, and to give back– this usually means a few or a lot of holiday parties to attend. Whether it be an office party or a get together with friends, you definitely want to look your best. I always love to wear dresses or two pieces for these kinds of gatherings because you want to let your loved ones know that you tried a little more this time around (but guess what? you don’t have to spend more!) Being the online shopping guru I am I took some time to find the best deals and holiday finds — I found that my friends at BCBGeneration (you can shop at your local Macy’s) have the perfect party dresses for any holiday occasion at amazing prices.
For my first holiday look I went with something simple. After all my mom always says, “there’s beauty in simplicity”! However, I shopped for this asymmetrical Pencil Skirt strategically. I knew it would be warm for the holidays, I could wear it later on with tights, or even tuck in a button down blouse for a more put together look (I could even add a leather jacket to make it more edgy). You see, when I shop for holiday outfits I think about the use I’ll get from those pieces in the long run as well. I paired it with the matching crop top, which also can be mixed and matched with pieces that already live in your closet. I finished off my outfit with my glossy (faux) leather booties which added a little spunk with the blue detailing in the heel.
For my second holiday look, I tried to go for a little more of the traditional Christmas vibe. I love plaid, but I can already tell this burgundy dress will live in my closet for awhile. It has such a timeless pattern and has such a form flattering silhouette because the tie-front detail allows the buyer to accentuate the smallest part of their waist. This dress is the perfect dress to look polished in without trying too hard. I am obsessed because when I walked out in this dress I felt so confident — I even decided to throw a little frenchie look in there by adding a beret. I love to play around with my accessories a lot which is why I paired the same glossy booties with the blue stiletto.
Macy’s helped a sister out! I was having issues on what to wear and brain farting when it came to outfit combos, but they came to save the day (or month). Within the collection at BCBGeneration, they have anything you may be looking to wear for those upcoming holiday parties. I’m talking anything from lace, metallics, maxis, sequins, suede .. you name it! Remember to shop for your personality and body type so that you feel the most confident you like I did in the outfits above! Plus, Macy’s being my friend and you all being my fam, you get to enjoy their Macy’s friends and family sales with the code: FRIEND. The sale goes on until December 10th so make sure to shop that holiday look before it’s over!
