Mini Skirts & Knee High Boots

The merge into fall has begun, and what better way to ease into the season than to wear that fall footwear along with some skin bearing favorites! Having the luxury of watching the seasons change is not something I have in California. The only tell I have that we are itching closer to holiday season is the smell of pumpkin spice latte in the air (and the xmas decorations at stores, don’t get me started). Whatever your case might be, we can all start to get a feel for fall in more ways than one — which in my case means unpacking chunky sweaters, thick leggings, furry boots, and cold weather accessories. I’m kick-starting Fall with a blog post of one of my favorite pairings — mini skirts and knee high boots.

This beautiful blue & gray color combo’d plaid set has quickly become one of my favorites. I used to wear mini skirts with pleats like this all the time in high school (not only because I went to Catholic school, also because I chose to wear them on my nights out). It has a clueless vibe to it but in a more serious tone. The set is from one of my favorite online stores: Storets. They have out of the box and innovative style for the fashionista inside of you! The set has an A-line fall on the body which is flattering to most body types, so definitely check out the *Shop My Look* section below. I paired it with knee-high black leather boots which I’ve had for the past year and currently 25% off at Nordstrom! These Marc Fisher babes are such a staple for winter & fall and a quick pick for a day to night shoe.

On the more edgier side — I worked in a little leather on leather. My leather mini & blazer set has been such a conversation starter at events. They’re actually not bought together, but as a set they give a professional, yet bad ass rocker vibe. I played on the rocker vibe and added an over the knee red leather high heeled boot. Red will always be a head-turning color, that’s a given — but making the whole outfit look chic makes them get a good second look. Plus, there’s no way of feeling more sexy and confident than strutting in an ensemble you love!

Neutrals will live on forever and I can confidently say that this look will come back time and time again — which makes it the perfect buy. However, if you’re not a fan of the two piece sets, this set is also a perfect buy for you! The skirt and top are so versatile, making them go well with jeans, shorts, other skirts, other blazers, leather jackets, you name it ! You will probably get the most out of your money from this outfit than from the other two which is why I wanted to share with you and how you can still dress it up. I paired it with the same Marc Fisher boots from the first pictures!
