Every time Spring comes around, the need to wear bright colors is just two steps behind. You just can’t go one Spring without wearing the “it” color. I loved all the SS18 presentations back in September which included all kinds of fun colors to play with when that Spring wardrobe came along. One of my favorites was a lime green color that made my eyes zig-zag from look to look. If I’m being honest, wearing pops of color is something I don’t usually do. I’ve tried over the years easing in to the trends, but for the most part I like to stick to my neutrals. However, if I do actually wear a pop of color, it is paired with my basics.
If you’re like me and you’re still unsure and testing the waters on specific trends such as bright colors, embroidery, lace, studs, etc, I recommend playing with what already works for you. My look, for example, is a nice pair of high waisted boyfriend jeans, a white casual top, and a pop of color. If you know you love stripes, keep the stripes and add a jean jacket with embroidery. If you love pastels, adding a white denim studded skirt might work. Stay true to yourself and take minimal risks to get to where you want to be.
Fashion is all about pushing the envelope, but when it comes to eye-catching items, the trick is to mix and match with neutrals to make that one piece stand out even more. Have you ever noticed you buy a new jacket, or some extravagant shoes and you get complimented on those pieces? it’s because you are so in love with that new item that you want it to stand out ! This should be the same! Play with the clothes already taking up space in your closet and make them memorable, it’ll put a spin to your wardrobe !
