A Look Inside: Makeup Bag Diaries

Hello dolls! I was looking through my DM’s and many of you usually ask what beauty products I use to do my daily makeup. Testing out the latest beauty products is one of my favorite things to do, and over the years the process of elimination has been brutal, but I finally narrowed my options down to my go-to makeup bag essentials. The beauty world is huge and I know personally that getting feedback from my girlfriends on which beauty products they like best helps me out when deciding to swap out a concealer or bronzer. This is why I am giving you a peek into my makeup bag!

When it comes to my makeup bag, I usually like to have ten to fifteen compact items that can be neatly organized in a small pouch. If there is a sample size or a smaller version of the product, I prefer to buy that one to store in my makeup bag. It’s important to note that you will be swapping out handbags throughout the week, month, or year so the makeup bag should suit any handbag.

My makeup routine is very natural, but sometimes wearing natural makeup can be confused with wearing no makeup. For foundation, I usually like wearing a light weight product. I found that Gallany gives me the coverage I need without the heavy and cakey look. I also use this as concealer to cover up dark circles.

When it comes to highlighter I definitely found my fave. Laura Mercier has a fabulous translucent powder, which I have been using forever, but the highlighter is amazing. They have different tones all perfect for any occasion. It is very natural and easy to blend for a nice natural facial glow.

Kevyn Aucoin has a bronzer that allows for that coveted Cali-glow. It is perfect for a slight contour and accentuating and illuminating facial features. I found that this bronzer compliments the Naked Smoky Pallet. I love the colors in this pallet so much that I keep one in my car, but was far as practicality, I found that the Charlotte Tillbury eyeshadows are a more compact size and have amazing colors. They are a bit more on the expensive side, but they are pigmented enough to last the whole day without primer. I would usually wear these only for weddings and special events, but found that keeping this pallet in my makeup bag is a great space saver and keeps me looking on point all day.

For me, it’s all about the finishing touches. These products are seriously some of my favorites. I had a campaign with European Wax this past year and was introduced to their brow kit. It is wow and beyond words ! I have thick brows and found that this kit really helped me tame them. European Wax has a brow gel, filler, pencil, and shaper perfect for those uniform brows. Their prices are a bit escalated, but they will last you the entire year so it is a great investment.

Contrary to my investment in brow products, I usually buy L’Oreal mascara at ultra for around ten dollars. I usually get lash extensions, but I found that when I need a little more volume this mascara is perfect ! Plus, it gives a great pick-me up to any look at an affordable price! I usually add a little Maybelline white eyeliner to make my eyes look a little bigger. This product is also affordable and I have gotten many compliments on this technique.

Bite Beauty by Sephora is new line of long-lasting lipsticks that I have grown to love. At first their products were a gift, I tried them out and I want all of you to try them out as well. They are super moist and perfect for lip hydration.

I hope my recommendations help all of you build your own makeup bag and make sure to share some of your make-up bag secrets as well! I love to hear your favorite products as well !

xx Gina
