MR. & MRS.

I love love love that I get to share this special milestone in my life with all of you. As most of you know, I GOT ENGAGED ! Many of you have asked me: Who? What? When ? Where ? and How? I want to dedicate this special blog post to my fiancé, but more than anything let you guys in on a little bit more about my personal life.

Let’s start out with the “Who” — Ahmed Eldahmy. I met him in San Diego’s Little Italy at a then newly opened restaurant bar named Herb & Wood. I’m not one to go out much, so it seems bizarre to me that I met him on the only night that I actually did go out. It was a ladies’ night and I was sitting by the bar. He approached me, and began talking me up, and before I knew it he had added himself from my facebook page.. Not really sure how he opened my phone but I’m glad he did. We began to talk over FB chat, and he asked me out and I refused… I barely knew the guy ! The second time around, I agreed and we went to Coasterra on Harbor Drive. That first date was better than expected…We stayed there until the place closed, talking and getting to know each other.

Moving on to the “What”– I can’t even believe it myself that everything happened the way it did. I travel a lot and just when I was starting to know him I went to visit my sister while she was living in Europe. I honestly thought it was not gonna work out since I wasn’t back home, it’s different when it’s long distance, but for some reason we talked day and night and enjoyed every moment of it. It’s funny because he is the type of guy that is very sociable and has events almost everyday, I remember the last night we were facetiming on my trip he told me “I think I lost my mojo, I think of you all the time” I started laughing and thought in my mind “he is such a liar”, but once I came back he demonstrated it was not. When I came back, ohh my god I was iiiin loooove you guys! He showed so much respect not only to me but towards my family as well… it’s a weird feeling but he made me feel protected, and loved looking at him and laughing for stupid reasons. His smile, his eyes, his… butt … oooooh k I think I got a little carried away but to sum it up, he’s exactly the person I pictured myself ending up with and I still can’t believe I found him.

After I came back from my trip we went out a few more times, which was when things started to get a bit more serious. He asked if I could be his girlfriend and I quickly agreed because that was exactly what I wanted.

“When” we officially started dating it was amazing. I have never had someone by my side support me as much as this man. I know it can get overwhelming at times to take pictures everywhere we go, but together we came up with a middle ground. I travel so much, and one of the best things about us is that wherever we are or however much I travel, he always tries to make the trip with me. He is my ultimate companion. He loves to travel as well, and one of the last trips we made was to meet his family. That’s when I realized that that he wanted something a little more serious than just a girlfriend. However, I never really imagined that it was going to happen so quickly!

After that trip, I went to New York for meetings leading up to fashion week. After, that I went to Cancun. “When” I was in Cancun, I felt a weird vibe coming from him. He was very dry and serious on our conversation over the phone. I honestly thought that was the end and had that feeling of nervousness and anxiety. However, when I arrived, he was at the airport waiting to pick me up. This caught me off guard, but I was especially caught off guard when he asked to go to dinner. I was wearing airport clothes (not pretty), bit off my nails because of the airplane nerves, and had not slept in a while. I agreed, and we went to Bertrand at Mister A’s — with one of the best views of San Diego. I was seriously confused.

After dinner, he asked to go for dessert. I asked “Where”? And he just said it was somewhere we had never gone before and he knew a really good place. We arrived to Balboa Park…He sat me down on a bench and said the dessert was “a surprise” and that it would be the best I ever had, so he put a blindfold on me. He said he was going to get the dessert, and asked me not to move. In that moment, my phone began to ring, I had it in my jeans pocket so I answered still wearing the blindfold on … I said “Hello” and then I heard “ Will you marry me?” I stayed silent for about three seconds. I took off the blindfold and the ring was in front of me. I started to scream and cry and I was a mess. I jumped and of course I said YES ! That was the reason he was acting so weird the last few days, and it was the best homecoming gift I could have ever wanted.

Like I said I couldn’t stop crying, and as you can tell no makeup no manicure and no sleep.

“How” I am so so lucky to have found him? I don’t know. I still, to this day ask him constantly. The best is yet to come and I can’t express my excitement to its fullest. I honestly can’t!

I hope you enjoyed the little snip-bit on how I am where I am with the man of my dreams. I love you all and can’t wait to see what comes next !
